Demo Recording
Hi, everyone, and welcome to the demo.
Today, I’ll be taking you through hub, our digital learning platform that we use here at CCS.
Effectively, this is your one-stop shop to access all the course content that you’ve signed up for.
Here, you’ll have two parts — a student journey, which contains all of the course content, some quizzes and interactive elements, and the reporting side for you.
Today, I’ll be walking you through both of those as we learn more about hub.
To begin with, everybody will start at a login screen, and they’ll be given some login credentials as part of onboarding. Once here, they’ll see all of the courses they have access to. Today, we’re just focusing on M.A.R.A.T..E for the sake of simplicity.
To start with, everybody will need to complete a confidence measure. This is to understand how people feel their skills are against our key result areas. We’ve designed these quizzes to have a good understanding about each of the individual KRAs — two questions for each.
I’m going to fill this out while I talk about the approach here. These are formative quizzes — they are not things that we grade. This is just an understanding about where someone is at, and it will form the basis of understanding how they’ve grown throughout the journey, with another exact quiz created at the very end.
Once submitted, users will never be able to access this content again, to make sure they don’t change the results.
Once they’ve completed the survey, they’ll be prompted to start the entire journey. All of these are linked to different modules.
For the sake of simplicity, I’m going to pull out the sidebar here on the left, end my unit, and show you access to the entire M.A.R.A.T..E course. Beginning at profiling behaviors, you can realistically start wherever best fits the needs of the user, and you can click through all of the modules.
There are two primary ways to navigate — using the sidebar, or by clicking Next Activity in the top right-hand corner.
Once you’ve completed some items, you’ll see a little tick here. This just shows that the content has been viewed. Some more formative information here that people can just fill out — again, no grading at this point. We just want people to start to really understand where they’re at.
As we click through, we’ll slowly work our way through the first module, second module, and then finally the third. Once I get past the third piece of content, you’ll land on a unit quiz.
This unit quiz is a graded quiz. We want to understand where everybody is at from their actual knowledge of each individual unit. Here, someone will receive 20 minutes to go through this entire quiz.
It’s very important that users know they cannot close this browser and come back to it over 30 minutes later. This 20 minutes is on a timer and it will stay the entire time.
If someone is a little bit worried about time pressure, by all means, feel free to hide or show the timer. The completion bar will be along here as we go.
I’ll submit the quiz. It’ll then process and submit — got 30%. But this is the first step to understanding how people are moving through the units and the retention of information.
Now, I’m not going to walk through absolutely everything with regards to all of the journeys, but I do want to show you what it looks like when someone is fully completed. So I’ve logged into a second demo account here for you.
Once they get to the end of all of the content, they’ll get access to this confidence measure post-course content. This again is that same pre-assessment we did at the start, to see how confidence has changed for the individual user.
Hopefully at this point, they’ve developed the knowledge and the skills to tackle the main problems of the course and feel confident and ready to use these in action.
In the event that someone has just started their journey, flicking back to the first demo here, you’ll find that this confidence measure is not accessible from the get go. The reason for this is that it is locked behind all of the quizzes, which are locked behind accessing every single point in the unit — meaning you must go through every unit and complete every quiz before this confidence measure opens up.
Ultimately, most of this content is something that we’ve developed for each client. If you require customization, you’re more than welcome to talk to your sales team at any stage. However, if not, something very similar to this will be provided.
Now, that’s all well and good to understand the learner’s side, but I think it’s important to quickly go through the auditor’s side. Now that we’re in the auditor account, we’ll be provided with a similar login credential. This account broadly looks identical to the learner with one key difference — the learner review, and a class reports field when inside courses.
Once I get to the learner review, I can click through here and get a real understanding about how the users are doing throughout their journey.
Here, I’ll be able to understand how far they’ve gone through the content, how much time was spent, how many topics were visited, and roughly what their percentage grade is. You’ll notice how much of the surveys they’ve completed — those are the pre- and post-course confidence measures — as well as how many of the quizzes were completed.
